Directions – Page 3

Psalm 51:5 says, “For I was born a sinner – yes, from the moment my mother conceived me”.

Romans 3:23 explains, “For all have sinned; all fall short of God’s glorious standards”. Because we are born sinners, it’s only natural for us to continue in sin. That’s why we tend to move farther and farther away from the source of our existence, God. As we try to fulfill all those physical desires in order to fill the emptiness inside us, we only fall deeper and deeper into the sins of jealousy, greed, envy, lust, and pride. And pride is what usually keeps us from listening to that inner voice that is constantly trying to give us the true directions. Pride tells us, “My way is best”. It is in effect resisting the directions given to you by God and believing in yourself or others. As long as we depend on someone or something else, we are lost, we will never truly believe in the One Who can save us, who can give us the Directions for the Journey of our Life. When all hope in all those things is lost, you are found!

God provided the Direction for the Journey of your Life with his Son, Jesus Christ. There is no amount of good things that you can do to save yourself from the judgment of your sin.
Romans 3:27 tells us, “…our acquittal is not based on our good deeds. It is based on our faith”.

Ephesians 2:8-9 explains, “God saved you by His special favor when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it”.

Romans 3:22 says, “We are made right in God’s sight when we trust in Jesus Christ to take away our sins. And all can be saved in this same way, no matter who we are or what we have done.” Notice that is says, “no matter who we are or what we have done”. That means everyone; it doesn’t exclude anyone or anything. You might ask, “How can that be, how can there be a God that would do that for someone like me”? It’s because He loves you that much!
